Is it appropriate to include an insert in my wedding invitation asking guests to RSVP to our wedding website?

We trying to save money and want to avoid sending response cards with postage prepaid. Is this bad taste?

Let me save you much time and effort and shipping …. I created my own invitations, RSVP cards, and an insert that had the directions to the center of events, information about the hotel for guests that the city, and our website created for free on theknot.com. The site can be annoying, but it has the basics: who you are, how I met you / were committed, which is in the wedding, wedding details (times and places), can even include the menu and registration. There is also a function Tho RSVP suggests that only allow a menu selection to confirm their attendance, so not really use it. Anyway, stuffed and mailed the invites and … I have two or three postcards in the mail every day with no name written on behalf of the client. I've asked here, I've asked family, friends, colleagues work (all of which are probably some of my names of suspects and not afraid to say) … if you have ever been invited to a wedding, you fill out your name in the RSVP. Not is done for you. This should not be a new concept. If you do any type of RSVP, postcards are cheaper (create zazzle.com) and the number of them. Keep a list of numbers corresponding names so you know who book and who is not. There are only a few days before my RSVP deadline, and I need more than half of the postcards. The wedding is 9/15/07 and we have to give final count 10 days before the event. We turn in early September calling on people to see if they come or not. I can not wait for people protesting that they sent their card, so I can ask if they put their name on it … and listen in silence. I recommend sending "save the date" mailings. I wish I had. After a low-cost invitation, people throw them away anyway. So if you'll be inviting a large number of young, Internet smart people, sounds great. You might as well save yourself the time and hassle and cost of RSVPs and shipping costs are only going to lose anyway and call the elderly. You're obviously going to end up doing it anyway. Everyone will wait until the last minute and need to play to beat the bushes.
